Description
Reese’s Easter Egg Puppy Chow is an easy, no bake dessert that is perfect for Easter and Spring. It’s made with classic peanut butter and chocolate muddy buddies, and colorful peanut butter Easter eggs!
Ingredients
- 5 cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 10 oz chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 bag (10 oz) Reese’s Pieces Easter Eggs, or other preferred Easter candy
Instructions
- Put Rice Chex Cereal into a large bowl.
- Microwave chocolate chips, butter and creamy peanut butter in a microwave safe bowl for about 1 minute. Stir.
- Heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until mixture is fully melted and smooth.
- Add chocolate mixture to cereal and stir to coat evenly.
- Cover the chocolate covered cereal with powdered sugar and stir until evenly coated. Have patience and stir carefully to not break up the Chex cereal too much. Alternately, you can add the chocolate covered cereal and powdered sugar to a plastic zipper bag, then shake until well coated.
- Allow puppy chow mixture to fully dry. It can be spread out on a parchment lined baking sheet to speed up the drying process.
- Then, gently stir in Reese’s Pieces Easter Eggs until evenly distributed. I used the whole 10 oz bag (just under 2 cups), but you could start with 1 cup and add more to taste.
- Store in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 2 months. Make sure to thaw frozen puppy chow in the fridge before enjoying.
