You may or may not be aware that I pretty much grew up in Charlotte, NC – the home of the Carolina Panthers. The team began back in 1995 and my family has been avid fans ever since (with the exception of my older brother who is a Falcons fan. He’s clearly confused ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). We even drove down to Clemson stadium for home games during their first year when they didn’t have a stadium built yet. Sunday tailgating is a tradition. Sadly being all the way in Atlanta, GA now I’m not able to attend nearly as many games as I’d like, but my parents still hold the best tailgate ever and I love to visit.

And the truth is – I can’t even take credit for this recipe. This is all my mom. For a couple seasons she’s been working on perfecting it. I had my suggestions of course, but she gets the credit. After testing proportions, this is her final masterpiece.

Certainly you can experiment with it too. The proportions have been reduced a bit over time to make it a little less potent. It has become so popular that people were getting a little too punchy. ๐Ÿ˜‰ It tastes so good it’s easy to not realize how much you’re actually drinking.

My parents rarely miss a game but they did miss one this season. Of course my younger brother wasn’t worried at all about them being gone, except that everyone was worried that the Panther Punch wouldn’t make it to the tailgate. It’s become a tradition that absolutely must be present for a Panther win! So my brother took care of it.

And now that the Panthers have gone 15-1 this season (!!!!!) I’m sharing the Carolina Panther Punch with you. I know you’ll be joining me in cheering them on through the playoffs – and hopefully to the Super Bowl – so we’ll need to be drinking this tasty punch together. It’s perfect for tailgating and for viewing parties. I was at the game this past Sunday and it was awesome! A good friend of mine since high school helped me with these photos. It’s her beautiful face showcased above. ๐Ÿ™‚

The recipe below makes a fairly good sized batch. Enough for a group. How many it should serve though depends on your crowd. I’m pretty sure my mom doubles this for tailgating and it serves 10-ish people per batch – some having more and some having fewer glasses.

Let’s go Panthers! Keep Pounding!!

We’re longtime Panthers fans in Hawaii and our super bowl party is going to be at the beach! We’re going to make this but keep it in an insulated drink cooler so that the bronco fans don’t know what they’re getting until it’s too late ???? Thanks for the recipe!

Hard to describe taste if you aren’t familiar with blue curaรงao. That’s a big part of the flavor, plus the fruity vodka. I’d describe it as sweet and fruity. If you left out the vodka, you’d want to replace it with something else. If you aren’t a vodka fan, you could use rum and there flavored rums that would work well. If you can’t find mango, I’d try pineapple.

Go Panthers!!!! My husband and I will definitely be making this for the super bowl but wanted to clarify the amount of Blue Curacao. Your recipe says 375 ml Blue Curacao (half of a 1.75 ml bottle). Did you mean 1.75 liters instead of ml? Half of a 1.75 liter bottle would be 875 ml so that didn’t sound right either. So we were wondering if 375 ml is correct or if half of 1.75 liter bottle is correct. Thanks so much and #KeepPounding ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for pointing that out! The 375 ml is correct. It should say half of a 750ml bottle. It’s been corrected. Go Panthers!!

Have you tried this with any other flavor vodka? MY father in law is allergic to mango so wondering if I could sub for something else

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com

I haven’t tried other flavors in this particular drink, but I’ve had something similar that used pineapple juice so I’m thinking pineapple vodka might be a good substitute to try.

Ive been a Panther fan through the good and bad since 95 too! they used to practice at my college, Winthrop before they built BOA( then Ericsson) stadium. I really miss the area. I will have to make this punch but just for me since my SB party will consist of me and two 11 year olds. lol

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com

haha! You can make it by the glass. ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad to hear from another die hard fan – go panthers!

I think I’ve learnt just as much about American football as I have about cakes from reading your blog!
This punch looks so great, I may have to start watching American football just to have an excuse to make it ๐Ÿ˜›

Boooooo! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Go Seahawks! But like someone else said, it’s blue, so that would do for the ‘Hawks, as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com

Ha! I’m so intimidating right? They should put me on the field to scare the opponent. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This looks great! My sister married into a Panthers family 10 years ago and now lives in NC, so as a result she and I became defacto Panthers fans years ago. I will definitely be cheering them on since my other team (Ravens) stunk this year. GO PANTHERS!

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com

Yes! She’s a smart woman to marry a Panthers fan. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Glad to have you cheering them on!

  11. taylor @ Food Faith Fitness

Love the inner sport coming out! Panthers Fan or not, you can’t get over how delish this drink is! It’s got it going on for sure! I would be all over this is a second ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com

Totally! It’s so yummy you could really have it any time. I’m think July 4th too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Mir

Well, I’m a Colts fan, but they’re also blue. So will we still be friends if I pretend it’s Indianapolis Colts punch? Hey, knock back a few of these and everyone will be waaaaay happy. This is great!

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com

Ha! Oh no! The only problem is it’s Panther punch and if you drink it you may involuntarily become a Panthers fan. ๐Ÿ˜‰
