This Pumpkin Trifle Dessert is made with smooth pumpkin-infused cream cheese filling, angel food cake, and whipped cream layered in individual trifle glasses. They’re super light, festive, and easy to make!

Recipe Ingredients
This pumpkin trifle dessert is made with just 6 ingredients. Scroll down to the recipe card below for measurements.
- Cream cheese – Be sure to use brick cream cheese, not the kind in the container.
- Sugar – Sweetens the cheesecake mixture.
- Pumpkin puree – You’ll only need part of a can of puree so be sure to save the rest for your other favorite pumpkin desserts.
- Pumpkin pie spice – Adds even more pumpkin flavor to the trifle dessert.
- Cool Whip – You can also use homemade whipped cream.
- Angel food cake – I like to use my homemade angel food cake, though you can absolutely buy one from the store. Note that you’ll only need about half of one for this pumpkin trifle recipe.
Tips & Variations
- Use room-temperature cream cheese. The cream cheese should be at room temperature before you begin this recipe for easier mixing. Cold cream cheese is harder to mix and will be quite lumpy.
- Swap out the angel food cake. You could easily use pound cake in place of the angel food cake or even something like gingersnap cookies or Biscoff.
- Add a topping. Try drizzling this pumpkin trifle with some caramel sauce just before serving or adding some pecans on top for extra crunch.
- Chill before serving. I like to make pumpkin trifle a few hours in advance so that the flavors really have time to meld.
How To Store Pumpkin Trifles
This pumpkin trifle dessert is best enjoyed the day it is made. However, you can keep it covered in the fridge for up to 2 days. Just keep in mind that the cake will soften the longer it’s in the fridge.
