I Love Making Apple Desserts For Fall
I hope you’re as excited for apple season as I am. After baking several new apple recipes, including this fun Caramel Apple Pecan Layer Cake, I am officially ready for all things apple. I’ve been eating up apples like crazy! They are delicious in desserts, and such a great snack.
In the case of these cupcakes, they are super moist, light, fluffy and bursting with apple flavor. The frosting is a cream cheese frosting, which is a fave of mine. It’s flavored with apple butter and a bit of cinnamon, since apples and cinnamon together is a no brainer. 🙂 They are topped with apple chips, which is a fun touch. They make a great presentation for a holiday party or get-together!

Can these be made ahead?
I often make things the day before I serve them. Any longer than that and they won’t be quite as fresh.
I love these! I need to triple the recipe and don’t want to use 9 egg whites – could I used boxed egg whites? How would you recommend doing this?
I haven’t ever tried using boxed egg whites. I have been tempted to try it though and feel like it should work. I’m so glad you enjoy the cupcakes!
I feel really stupid but I cannot find the actual recipe for the apple butter cupcakes anywhere. Can you please let me know where to find the recipe or send me a copy of it?
Thanks so much!
It should be easier to find now – it has a pink background. I hope that helps!
Apple butter is so tasty! Using it for cupcakes is such a good idea!
These look A-MAZING!!! Can these be made into a layer cake? And can you sub with other butters? I want to make these all Fall!
Yes, it can be made into a layer cake. Here’s a recipe that does just that – plus some. 🙂 As far as other butters, it depends a little bit on the particular butter and the amount of liquid and fat. Peanut butter for example has less liquid, so you might actually need to adjust some other ingredients to account for that and not have a dry cake.
Oh man apple butter in both? Yes please! Can’t wait for the cookbook to come out for even more cupcake recipes!
Thanks Heather! 🙂
Ohmygosh. Total heaven in a cupcake. I am so digging your fall recipes right now!
Thanks Mir! 🙂
