Strawberry Nutella Hand Pies
I am totally a fan of simple treats every once in a while. You know I love my cakes, but little pies are just too fun. Kind of pike the mini dessert of the pie world. And I love mini things. 🙂
And these are so nice and easy to make with a pre-made unbaked pie crust. I get the Pillsbury brand.
How to Make The Best Mini Pies
Unroll the pie crust and use a 3 inch circle cutter to cut out the circles. You could do other shapes too, if those are the cutters you have.
You’ll want to unroll the pie crust on a non-stick surface. My preferred way is on parchment paper so that I don’t have to use flour – better for using the scraps and not adding flour to them and also less mess. You can use flour though, if you prefer.
Once the circles are cut out, add about 1/2 a tablespoon of Nutella to half of the circles (you’ll need two per pie). Spread it out a bit, leaving about 1/4 an inch around the edges for sealing the pies.
You’ll top the Nutella with the strawberries. You can use either sliced or chopped strawberries. I’ve done both. If you chop them, they’ll need to be small enough – about the size of a pea or corn kernel. If you slice them, it takes less time. 🙂 Just don’t slice them too thin, or you won’t get as much of a pop of flavor.
To help seal the edges, I use my finger to run a little egg wash over the edges of the circle, then place the top circle on and seal the edges with a fork. Cut a couple slits into the top of the pie – or a heart. Spread a little more egg over the top of the finished hand pie and sprinkle with some sugar.
Bake them till golden and beautiful! Give them about 5 minutes or so to cool before digging in. They’re also quite tasty at room temperature. Nutella and strawberry really are a marriage of two wonderful things. 🙂

Hand pies are so much fun, especially when they involve Nutella!
Now THIS sounds like a recipe I can do. I know you’re a cake person, but I prefer a good pie any day of the week. This sounds amazing. How many 3″ pies were you able to make with one tube of the pre-made Pillsbury dough? I’m already thinking of the cherry, blueberry, and apple additions that would go great with this!
Adorable hand-pies; perfect for a Valentine’s Day treat.
These are so freaking cute! And you had to go and put Nutella in them. I feel as though I could eat about five of these. These look amazing!
Oh my gosh, these are so adorable, Lindsay! I’m in awe of these cuties! I’ve made mini strawberry pies before, but adding nutella in these babies takes them to a whole other level. LOVE!! And pinned!

I love the little heart cutouts! And Nutella, yowza. I want to hold one in each hand! Is that greedy?
Not greedy at all! That’s how I do it. 🙂 Thanks Mir!
